Font on timeline has changed. My only explanation is that it is the same narrow font I'm using in Avid title Tool in this project. It has made text almost unreadable in the timeline. Before I added a title the timeline font was normal. How do I change back to the default timeline font?

Not sure what's going on here.
I have two video tracks grouped (two cameras, sync'ed), multiple clips on each track.
Scenario 1: I put effects on the clips in both tracks (not rendered), close the application after updating the group, reopen and all my effects are gone.
Scenario 2: Reopen the group, select the track/clip, hit render in the Effect Editor, Render in the application, playback - everything is fine. Close application after updating the group. Effects are gone/not rendered.
What am I doing wrong??

THis only started recently, before I had no problems. I installed Resolve, updated my GPU-driver, and installed BRAW.
MC didn´t immediatly crash after the installation of the above, but now it hangs itsself up very often starting up when initializing import/export.
Plus this computer has a problem shutting down. Maybe this is also related somehow.

First af all, my support plan is expired, I am using Pro Tools 11 right now. But since I formatted my PC it doesn't open due to some problem with my license. I have tried everything and my case is still in queue.
I have a lot of work to do for next week and I am really stressed right now.

My "error message" says: You don't have any licenses in your account, or none of the licenses there have activations available. You do not have any pending deliveries for the license (s) you need to authorize the software. You may need to visit the Avid web site to get a license deposited to your account.
I have formatted my PC in the past but I never had this issue before, hope someone could help me.

I want to see the audio track labels in the timeline so I know very fast what track I'm working on.
It's possible with adding comments for sequences but not for subclips. It's also possible to rename the MXF-files manually, but nobody wants to do that.
I want to see the audio information from the bin in the timeline.
I mean, I would like to be able to see every column from the bin in the timeline. So I could use tags that I can see in the timeline. But that's another request.
Right now, it would be great to see the audio track labels.
Does anyone know if there is any reason why we can't map to the number pad or F14-19?
Could Avid do it if they wanted? Or is there something in the OS the makes it impossible?
Is there any way to work with 96k/24 bit audio directly within Media Composer? I can export a sequence as 96K but can't seem to import clips or audio files at 96K.

Having linked to the file to check the insert, I want avid to release it to allow the file to be moved to a scan folder for air.
*sometimes* deleting the master clip and/or clearing source monitor is enough; but often I have to quit avid altogether.
Anyone know any other voodoo to force Avid to release its grip on a linked file?
Hi all, im adding a lot of VFX shots (normal/alpha) for a film and most of them are coming in fine, however ive noticed that some are being cut off at the 99 frame mark rather than the full amount, in this case 108 frames.
I have no idea what is going on or why this is happening, any advice?
In resolve the full 108 frame are imported.
Im working iwth a 25fps project and the DPXs are also 25fps.

I have installed Editorial Management on a server and am connecting to it with a client computer. Both can connect to the Nexis and mount workspaces. The client computer can connect to mediacentral both within Avid and in a chrome web browser, but in both instances all I see in the directory listing on the left hand side is the name of my Nexis. None of my workspaces show up and no files or folders. I'm out of ideas on how to make files show up, it feels like the Nexis needs to be indexed and then the files and folders will show up? If someone can help please.

I work a lot on my edits with Stereo Audio tracks.
Whenever I have to bring linked media (either wav or video files) with stereo audio I always have to select the media in the media with right click , then select modify then go to tab Set Multichannel Audio and link the A1-A2 so MC can use that audio as a stereo file.
This is getting tiresome, because I always want my audio to be stereo. Is there a way so this is the default behaviour?
I am looking for a mobile device to edit with Media Composer on the go.
Does anyone know if Avid runs on a Microsoft Surface Book 2?

Is there a way of "tabbing" between bins in a superbin? If I have three (or more) bins open, is there a way to "tab" between the bins without having to use the mouse to click on the bin name?

As requested by a client, I delivered the master video of a production to Sony for DVD replication. I was the show editor. Sony called asking me to deliver a DDP file, but to me that means doing the authoring. I am correct or is there a way to create a DDP file which is not the authoring master?
Ive been looking around many of the posts regarding workspaces/bins and project settings but I cant find anything specific to the new interface.
I really want to make this new software work, but its proving to be a real problem.
Weve just completed the Burghley Horse Trials for the BBC and we ran with 2 x MC 2018 and 2 x MC 2019.
None of the editors could work with 2019 - its to do with the way the bins are managed and where some of the menus are. For instance wheres the little pop out menu that you used to be able to access from the main viewer menu?
Also several times with 2019 the editor 'lost' the project menu so did not know which project he was working in (we run multiple projects - around 8 to make our workflow easier). It seems the only way was to exit Avid and restart - however this then reset all the bin workspaces again.
Weve just gone back to 2018.12.7 which works just the way it is supposed to.
I am very sorry Avid, but the new interface does not seem to have been designed with professional editors in mind.
We were very excited to think there would be a new version a few months ago but it does not feel as though its been properly thought through or tested.
I'd really like to be proved wrong on this - anyone else havng problems?
Firstly the Blackmagic BRAW 1.5 AMA Plugin to import footage from the Blackmagic Pocket 4k, ursa Mini Pro 4.6 in the BRAW format.
1. Can't transcode with-in Avid the BRAW format to Avid MXF format
Import BRAW Pocket 4k into Avid Media Composer. Columns for video in Avid Media Composer is 'un-supported' impossible to transcode with-in Avid Media Composer to Avid format. As you get un-supported resolution error.
2. Filename is cut-off and Timecode start is 00:00:00:00
Imported filename is cut off comes in the column 'name' A003_04182157_C0 Should be A003_04182156_C009 there by making edl/aaf impossible to work with afer in Resolve. Timecode start is always 00:00:00:00. When the BRAW files are imported into Da Vinci Resolve the correct timecode start is displayed in the file.
3. Impossible to edit from Avid BRAW for finishing in Da Vinci Resolve
Export an AAF/EDL from Avid Media composer for finishing in Da Vinco Resolve. Import EDL/AAF as new timeline in Resolve. The neweley created timeline from th4 Avid EDL/AAF media is all cut off for the filenames example A003_04182157_C0 Should be A003_04182156_C009
I am trying to send my BRAW avid sequence via aff to Resolve and noticed that every single clip I used has a starting time code of 00:00:00:00 and not the TC imbedded on the original clips. Obviously this does not allow me to do this roundtrip since no clips match the original TC so the sequence clips come up as offline on Resolve. Any insights?

I can't seem to go into my bin and click/drag a column edge to see more information about a clips details? It dosen't seem to do anything? Worked previous pre 2019 versions of Media Composer.

I am using Media Composer ver 6.5.4.6 with Blackmagic 4K Extreme, HP Z420 machine with 16GB RAM, Windows 7 64 bit.
When I am trying to capture SD video or audio only from VCR, controlled by RS422 port (using the port of Blackmagic card)
I get very often the message:
Exception: Your attached hardware is reporting an unexpected frame rate.
The frame rate I am working with is 25i (PAL).
The capture sometimes works for short time, several seconds, or minutes, and after that I get this message.
In my environment I have 9 more machines with similar or the same configuration and no one of them encounter such problem.
What I finally test was to switch on only A1 and A2, even when disconnected SDI signal at all and I get the same message even when I just push play button on the capture tool.
I suspect the RS422 port of Blackmagic card, but not sure.
Any ideas? Thanks.
