Trying to make some works in 240fps slomotion, to AMA link into Avid etc to keep the frame rate. Can't link or import at the moment, is anyone else using iPhone X or Gopro 6 H.265 footage in Avid, and if so, how.....?

Fusion Connect is broken in 2018.7 - Heads up for those upgrading from 2018.5
Apparently the issue is with the Fusion Connect plugin and not, strictly speaking, Media Composer.
I have been told that the folks over at BMD have been notified. I have also escalated this to the BMD support team.
I'm posting this here in the hopes that a heads-up may be helpful to those who are using Fusion Connect with 2018.5 or earlier and are thinking about upgrading to 2018.7 (you might want to hold off until we see an update to the Fusion Connect plugin from BMD).

Publish To crash still not fixed in 2018.10
When one posts error messages here and Avid does not fix bug introduced in 2018.9 it sure looks like it's time to move to Resolve. Not being able to publish a Sequence is about as fatal an appliation bug as one can have.
And, what's with new undocumented install option tha seems to require quitting the Application Manager.
And, what do our Moderators do? Nothing! 2018.10 has been out since last week. Nothing posted here! Do they ever work on the bugs posted here? Nope.

after installing 2018.10 Can't get sound on MXF file to come into all the way
Any mxf file i link to, the pix is fine but the sound loads in a few seconds on head of clip and stops. The next clip does the same thing. Even mxf files that i have been using and transcoded allready in project, If i go back to the original clip that use to work on 2018.9 can't be brought in with 2018.10. You can see the waveform in the picture attached, it stops.
Any thoughts?

Cannot reach licence server....
My Avid is trying to renew my monthly subscription but it keeps geeting 'Licence renewal not successful cannot reach Avid servers' and in the application manager is says 'Licence renewal not successful. Response is out of order with previous responses.'
I am in the middle of a large project and cannot afford ANY tdown time and am worried when tomorrow (2nd Nov) comnes around as that is the renewal date that I will lose functionality!!! Please advise!

Help needed, re-importing files
Hi,
I experimented a wreck with my external harddisk. All the material vanished. Luckily I have all the original files from camera left. I also have sequence recovered from Attic. But my problem is:
I have a sequence MediaOffline. When I decompose the sequence I have all the clips separately visible at the bin. But when I try to re-import them Avid needs me to point every single clip separately in re-import. My clips were originally transcoded from AVC-INTRA100 to DNXHD120. So the offline clips have extension .new01.
Is there any way that I could have all the clips re-imported without have to point every single clip separately to Avid?

Save Title Dialog Box Needs Another Track Option
When you have an in and out marked in the timeline and create a title in the title tool you get the option to place it in the timeline. It seems to default to "Topmost Track". It should offer "Selected Track" as an option, and that should be the default.

Auto sync options for MC
I've got a short doc ready to edit and have lot's of unsynced video and audio clips that were recorded withouth a clapper or TC. Was planing on using PluralEyes but they stopped supporting MC. So how do I go about this now? No way am I doing all of this by hand, that would take me days.
Are there any other plugins, software that support Avid? Multi/group clips waveform analysis is out of the question as I don't know what goes where...

Avid Media Composer 7.0.2. is crashing when editing effect LCONCEAL - CONCEAL
Hello,
When I place the effect Conceal / Lconceal in the timeline and then I edit this effect with the effect editor I get the following message:
Assertion failed !("WHo\'s calling this?!?!?") File:..\..\src\Consumers\EffectMan\ARealTimeEffect.c, line: 102
I have allready tested the same effect in another project and also in a testproject and I 've got the same error ! Same error with the effects "flip" "flop".... Other effects don't give this error message when editing.
I have found the same item in the forum A.M.C. for PC without a solution mentionned ....
I am working with Avid 7.0.2 under Win 7 Prof SP 1 64 bit - IntelCore I7 CPU 920 @2.67 GHZ - Ram 24 GB
Is there anyone who can help me ?

Pro Tools license not appearing in iLok
I just purchased pro tools 2018.10 for a month. I downloaded the software etc, it's listed as active, but my license is not showing up in my iLok account or iLok manager so I can't run the software. The accounts appear to be successfully linked. Can anyone help? Thank you

Xeon or i7 / i9?
Hi!
I‘ve been on Mac for 8 years now, but I’m thinking of switching back to windows due to the new announcements / Prices and lack of announcements reg. Mac Pro.
My PC build would only be running AVID Media Composer (with focus on creative editing, editing with DnxHD proxies, barely any exports / conversion tasks) but I‘m wondering which CPU to pick: Xeon or i7 / i9.
My experience with Media Composer:
On my 2013 Mac Pro (Xeon 6-Core, 64gb ram) everything feels sluggish very quickly (30min sequence, barely any soundeffects). An i7 iMac (2018) stays much more response with the very same sequence.
But the more complex and longer the sequence gets (more sound effects etc.) the worse it gets on the iMac (extremely sluggish), whereas it only gets a little worse on the Mac Pro.
Which CPU should I pick and why? Has anyone of you ever compared the two types using media composer?

Can't see titles when parked, only on play
Hi all,
I was working on a client's MC 6.5 station yesterday, and titles don't show in the monitor when parked. They only show during playback. The same thing happens when I park on a still with Pan and Zoom applied. On playback, the effect shows properly. When I park on a frame, I see just the underlying still as if the effect is doing nothing.
I tried changing the video display quality and restarting Avid, but no change. Any ideas?

2018.9 small trim mode sluggish?
We just upgraded one of our editors from 2018.4 to 2018.9. He was complaining that trim mode was super slow to react. It turns out that it was the small trim mode setting. It seems to be sluggish even with default user settings (once small trim mode is enabled). Does anyone else have this issue? Regular trim mode is fine.

AVID crashes - audio trim with caps lock on
Hi Folks,
Been having this issues since my recent upgrade to MC 2018.10.0.
When I use the trim tool to extend audio while the caps lock is on, my Avid freezes and crashes. I've already done an uninstall and re-install to see if this would resolve the problem, but it didn't.
Here's the error message from the APPEVENT.LOG:

No audio output except when playing calibration tone!
Hi
I'm trying to set up an SDI audio de-embedder and can't get audio output from any project media.
But if I select 'play calibration tone' it plays loud and clear.
Any ideas?

No export Option
I have created a small video, everything is saved and rendered. I right click on the sequence to export and there is no export option. Is there something I'm missing? There are no AMA files, all my images and audio have been input directly. In the image you can see the results of a right click on the sequence. Any help is appreciated.

Request - View Spanned Markers in Timeline
Spanned markers are a great idea, but because I can't see them in the Timeline window I rarely use them. I think the ideal place to display them would be at the top of the Timeline window where the timecode is displayed.

Losing my mind!
So i just purchased and downloaded Avid Media Composer perpetual. I installed it. When i try to open it, a window tells me "current license has no expiration date" and that i should update it.
I can only quit, or go to Avid support. I follow all the instructions on the support page - nothing works. I still get the same window when i try to start the program.
I tried phoning support, but when the lady asks me to enter my system ID, she says "That system ID is not sound" - why? It's the one they gave me! I do it again and agina in case im hitting worng numbers.... no dice.
So i start losing my mind and drop $50 to get a special ticket to get support thinking i could call them today. Nope. Doesn't work.
On top of all this, the Application manager just stays 'initializing' and never actually opens. I read all the forums and do all the steps - nothing works.
Its been a terrible experience. I'm a FCPX user. I'm not used to all these steps you need to go through just use software.
I have a new macbook pro, High Sierra 10.13.6
What am i doing wrong?

Dynamic Media Folder: error message saying - AVID Editor Services are not running. Please start services form AVID Editor Services Manager
When I click on Dynamic Media Folder I get error message saying - AVID Editor Services are not running. Please start services form AVID Editor Services Manager but the service is running and I have a green arrow icon on the top bar of my mac?
What I can say is that since upgrading the application manager I can't sign in my account.
