Cannot get Media Composer First to install.
Everything will install untill it the application manager. Then it will get a popup error: "Your system does not support this version of Media Composer. Please consult the Specification information ....."
My syste is running Windows 10 Pro 64-bit and has 16 GB of memeory.
All drivers are current (as far as I can tell).
Need some help on getting this to install
Hey, I just installed MC First and just can't use it.
It starts OK, I can import some clips and adding them to the time line. But I few minuts later, can't reproduce anything. It shows this error:
Exception: std::exception, what:ACF call failed: pContainer2->SetFilePath(pFilePath), error code 0x80000008, file ..\..\src\msm\MobConn.c line 103
Quicktime and iLok are just installed.

We recently bought a HP z820. Wanted to get a system on the Avid approved list.
Did all the tweaks in the BIOS that was in the Avid z820 PDF. Pretty basic system. Nvidia Quadro 2000, Dual CPU (E5-2670), 64GB of ram.
We are running Avid Media Composer 7.0.7. The install went fine. When launching MC we get this error:
'Assertion failed: m_pPrimaryBufferPtr
File: ..\..\src\player\ALocateBufferMgr.c, Line: 456'
seems to happen when it initilizes the Nitirs DX (during Initilizing Hardware). I did try to manually update the firmware using the .abf files in our Media Composer folder. I also shut down, unplugged the DX, and restarted it all.
This is all on a fresh Windows 7 Pro intall. Any ideas? Thanks much.

I just tried to use background services on my desktop and have red arrows. Not tried to use them in while so don't know when this happened. Any suggestions for things to check gratefully received.

There should be an option to quickly refresh a media asset. For example, I changed an imported JPG. The only way seems to be deleting the media files and re-importing. Refresh would be much more convenient.

Working on nailing down the workflow for going from MC to Resolve and back. I've got a tapeless job that has been transcoded to MXF for editing speed. I export an .AAF from MC, consolidating the media to a new drive and linking to those new files in the .AAF
Going into Resolve, the AAF is imported, but for almost every clip, the error message appearss:
"The clip "" can't be linkg to the media file "(mxf file name goes here)" because the timecode extents doesn't match.
I've tried a slew of configuration options both in creating the .AAF as well as adjusting Resolve settings, trying to get something to work. I've scoured the internet, and have found others with this same issue, but have not found any resolution.
Anyone have any thoughts?
For what it's worth, I can see all of the clips in the master timeline scroll bar at the bottom of the conform window, but only a couple of the clips show up in the track layer window (I'd say about 3 out of 100 in my test file).
Is it an Avid setting I'm missing, or a Resolve issue?

MC:F is unusable for me because of the constant flashing console window, running and re-running "C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe" and Avid Application Manager stuck in perpetual "Initializing..." mode and not even allowing me to log in.
Any fix for this? 
P.S. I tried uninstalling, rebooting and reinstalling to no effect. I have to disable the Application Manager in the startup tab of the task manager, otherwise my computer is completely useless.

I have downloaded and installed Media Composer | First for Windows, but cannot get it to run. When I try to log in to the application manager window to activate Media Composer, I enter my credentials and after a delay of maybe 30 seconds, I get the message "UNKNOWN ERROR" in red text. Is this a known problem? What could I be doing wrong?

I`m quite new with work in postproduction and in desperate need for help, this week I`m going to work on set for the first time in my life where I will have to capture playback from AJA to MC, I have never used AJA control room and can`t find anything on youtube. If anyone is familiar to this workflow and knows how to work on set, I`ll be extremely greatfull for your tips and instructions. Have no idea what to start with, whether I should capture to the external drive, which resolution to choose etc. I`m using PC.

What is the max distance that I can cable between the Avid Switch and the ISIS server. I'm wondering If I can have the switch in one location and the server in another. Distance is probably about 75ft. Jus thinking out loud but would a appreciate a response.

What is the recommended replacement product?

I'm building a new editing pc for Media Composer and Resolve. My last build is 4 years old and getting long in the tooth.
I plan on using a Geforce GTX 1070 TI . However since there are so many manufacturers building their own brand of this graphic card I'm not sure which one to get. Some have 2 fans others 3 fans and the thickness and length differ between cards. My question is for the folks that are using the GTX 1070 on their systems. Which manufacturer are you using? Asus, MSI, Gigabit etc, and have you had good luck with it. I will be using an i7 8700K cpu on an Asus Prime Z370-A motherboard with 32GB of ram. Also , is anyone using a GTX 1060 on their system? Any help is appreciated, thanks.

So i had some earlier problems and I have isolated and here is our current issue.
We had AVID MC with symphony 8.9.1 and when you open a project regardless of the user or format or ANY settings it suddenly spikes memory usage to 96%. We have another machine in the next room that is exactly the same and it never goes over 30%. Any idea what can cause this? We are desperate!

I've recenlty been upgrading our ISIS servers (2 x 5000 & 3 x 5500) to version 4.7.11. The 3 x 5500 upgraded without issue. The 2 x 5000 chasiss have been upgraded but with errors.
I've gone back to try and troubleshoot where the problem went wrong and it appears that during the install process, the 'Current Status' for 'Raid Set Configuration' reported error/warning.
I've tried to delete the raid using: enter RaidConfig.exe –d
This comes up with an error: Error: Product server type could not be determined from part number "9935-65144-00" and attempts to do this 5 additional times, reporting the same error.
Basically the issue is storage manager keeps trying to launch and keeps reporting that the server needs to reboot. I've tried searching for this specific problem with no luck.
The next thing I was going to try was a complete rebuild but I feel this won't actuallyfix the issue as I beleive it's with the raidset itself and I somehow need to import the previous config (pre-upgrade) for it to work.
Has anyone seen or come acrros the same thing?

We want to edit in 4k and are accepting that we need to transcode. We shot Varicam in 4k with VLOG but i havent the foggiest idea what the best project setting is. We want to have enough headroom for grading. We did a rec 2020 project and it forces us to transcode at DNxHR4444 and every terabyte ends up bcomeing like 3tbs. Insane. Is there a project setting (RBG 709? DCI p3? etc etc) that wont lose any data, provides headroom and uses media efficiently? After we choose the color space, what is the best target video resolution? Thanks!
Now that the new iMac Pro has been announced for the 14th, I wonder if
