I exported a couple AAFs for post audio folks. Consolidate exports - one embedded and one linked to media same folder as AAF. both on separate drives from my media drive. During the export, Avid fills the bin full of new master clips. My understanding was that both of those export methods create new media files and the new master clips created in Avid link to those new media files---NOT ORIGINAL MEDIA. I had to re-do the exports, so I figured, well, I'll delete the old ones, including the pile of new master clips created in avid. Guess what, a seemingly random assortment of MASTER MEDIA files from my media drive were deleted as well. Enough to drive a person to swearing. So frustrating. I do have a backup, but it's going to take a day to figure out what's here and what's not.
