Sharing avid projects and saving projects locally

Hi all, I'm working on a show where we're going to have a project shared between two avids. We're loading everything onto the main avid (my one) and then on a drive we've copied the project and the media files. Then we've connected this drive to the producer's laptop so she can create rough compiles for me to work off. The idea being that she will create timelines in bins in the project which i'll then copy back onto my avid.

I've had a look around the forums but not found the answers to my specific questions, which are:

When I copy her new bins on to my avid, I'm pretty sure I'll only need to copy the actual bins, the same media is on both machines so I shouldn't need to copy over the media files, is this right?

Also, she's currently saving onto the travel drive, rather than locally on her laptop. The media won't fit on her laptop, but it seems to me to be sensible to save the project file (or a copy of it for backup) to her local drive. My question is, if she has the travel drive plugged in, will she be able to launch and edit the project from the version saved on her local drive? And is this good practice anyway?

And thirdly, will any markers she adds to the timelines she's creating transfer over?

Sorry if these questions seem a bit elementary, not managed to find an answer to them elsewhere.

Thanks heaps :)
