I have a sequence, almost 2 hours, with lots of titles and graphics, six video tracks that each have content on almost all of the sequence. Not the ideal way to do things, I know, but it wasn't what I expected when I started the project, so here I am.
I'm just trying to export to a QT movie. When I do anything settings other than Same as Source, (even lower quality than what the source files are) it starts to export than gives me an expected export time of over 40 hours. At first I thought it might just be a timer glitch, but I left it running overnight and I woke up to the bar having barely moved.
So whatever, I said, I'll just export Same as Source and deal with it from there. This setting gives me a reasonable export time (about 2.5 hour). The export bar moves all the way to the end of the line until the export time and the expected time are the same, then freezes. When I try to cancel or click anywhere, the program crashes. In the target folder I'm left with a file with the name that I gave it, a whopping 90 GB but it's 00:00 in length (or at least, when I load in in VLC that's what it says).
At this point I just need some copy of the file to show the client, whatever format. I'll deal with it from there.
Some additional information that may or may not be relevant: I imported the footage directly from a shared Dropbox folder, which I've never done before. I had no problem working with any of it.
Update: Turns out this problem may be deeper than I thought. Now AVID is doing the same get to the end and crash when I try to reimport the footage into a new bin, this time directly from my working drive.
