PC Windows 7 pro, i7-4790 4GHz, 32 gig ram, BlackMagic Intensity Pro 4k, Media Composer + Symphony subscription ver 8.5 Artist control/color/transport
Footage shot on Black Magic Cinema Camera 2.5k version shot in DNxHD 175 format with guide audio from on camera mic. Audio was double system, recorded on ZOOM H6. All audio was 48k 24 bit. (main and guide)
I playback the video clips with attached guide audio and everything works as expected. If I park the play head the frame before the slate and hit play, I hear the slate as expected.
When I load the audio only clip from the H6, and park the play head on the frame before the slate (judging by the wave form and hit play, I hear only the ring out of the slate hit. not the sharp crack. that happens five frames earlier.
If I enable audio scrubbing, the slate hit happens in sync with the wave form on the time line. If I go back to play, the slate hit happes five frames early.
If I sync based on sound, when I look at the newly created subclip audio lags by 5 frames. If I sync visualy, to the wave form, the final sub clip ends up in sync.
I have done a LOT of manual syncing in my life on AVID and this is the first time I have seen this phenominon. But there are several new firsts:
First time in MC 8.5
First time with artist control surfaces.
First time on this computer.
First time on BM Intensity pro 4k
First time dinking around with the footage in Pluraleyes verson 4. (and it not working) and in Resolve before bringing it into AVID to sync.
Is this a wierdness of ver 8.5? or something else? I have done a lot of short films with this camera and recorder combo and never seen this.
Thanks for any help.
