Application Manager INSANITY!!!

So.... One of our edit suites was crippled today by the antics of our beloved Avid Application Manager. The program had gone haywire, as it is oft to do, self-spawning many instances of itself, filling up the hard drive with (gotta love this one) over 27 Million temp files. Yes, that is million with an M. I selected the files and told Windows to delete them and it has been doing so for over 4 hours and it is telling me it will still take another 3 hours before it finishes deleting these files.

That means this edit suite will be shut down for almost 7 hours due to the shenanigans of the Avid Application Manager. Can I bill Avid for the use of our edit suite for this?

Lest you think this is an isolated incident, fear not fellow Avid aficionados, this has now happened in 4 of our edit suites. All previous incidents were caught before reaching the level that inspired this post. But, d@?%... If this program hasn't been classified as a virus yet, I don't know why. It certainly is exhibiting some of those traits.

Away we go to completely uninstalling from every system throughout our facility the single most annoying Avid Application in all the world.

Thank you and good day sir.

Charles
