Jittery Playback - New PC Build, Not Due to Hardware

Hey everyone and thank you in advance!

I recently built myself a nice editing/gaming/general use computer. Here are the specs:

Windows 10 - 64 bit

Intel i7 6700k 4.0ghz

16GB DDR4 Ram (will upgrade to 32gb soon)

Nvidia 1070 8GB Graphics Card

500gb SSD as Boot drive

3tb 7200 rpm HDD drive for Avid editing

Anyway, some of the video files (but not all - about half of them) I add into avid, playback in the source and record windows with jitters. I can tell it is not hardware based because they also export jittery. I have installed all the quicktime codecs, DIVX codecs, and all other codecs I can think of. My graphics card has the latest drivers and I have tried to use AVID's nvidia driver, but it does not work with my graphics card, which is quite new.

I have tried linking and transcoding media and just importing it regularly. When I play the files (that have not yet gone into AVID) in Quicktime player or Windows Movie Player there are no jitters.

I am running the most recent version of AVID Media Composer.

Any advice would be sincerely appreciated!

Thanks,

Justin
