Relinking offline FS7 media

Hi.

I’m working on a large project that has around 200 media bins containing footage shot on a Sony FS7 camera.

We had to adjust the drive letter on the drive that this project’s media is stored on, and of course that resulted in the media becoming offline.

I’m looking for a way to get this media back online all at once. Media is Linked (AMA).

Technically the file path to the media is exactly the same, other than the change in drive letter.

eg. A:\my project\media\FS7\card number

has now become

J:\my project\media\FS7\card number

The file structure of the FS7 camera is XDROOT > Clip > then the media file is a .MXF that comes with a .XML and a .BIM

(when using the source browser to Link, selection is XDROOT or anything above)

We shoot UHD, but I am working in an HD project for this project.

The only way I’ve ever been able to get FS7 media back online in the past if I have moved it or changed the card number name etc, is by going to the bin the media is in, opening source browser, finding the media and re-Linking it.

I’ve never been able to get the "Relink…" function to work with offline FS7 media. I feel like I've tried every possible combination on the Relink options window, but I just get “No clips were relinked…” every time.

The only time I’ve been able to get Relink to work on FS7 media is when swapping back and forward from a transcode. I seem to be able to do this easily via the default setting on the Relink window, and when I want to swap it back to a transcode, I select the drive letter and change to “Target if different”. The FS7 media is never offline during this process.

So I’m sort of in an annoying situation where the only way I know how to get 200 media bins online is by using the source browser on every bin individually. I realise I could make a new bin and then source browser Link every card all together, subsequently bringing all my individual bins online— but the problem with doing that is it wipes out all the individual LUTs applied to the source FS7 media and resets my modified tracks back to their defaults, whereas (I assume) it wouldn’t do this using the Relink option (?)

Does anyone have any suggestions on something I could try? A different way to use the Relink window? Is there a way to Link to a volume/media drive that automatically resets the path locations for media?

Thank you very much for any help!!
