I recently had a 2tb drive crash. I was able to recover the data but the recovery process didn't retain any of the drive folder structure. The drive contained video files, most shot in the Sony XDCAM EX format. Everything was in project specific folders and seperated into the content bins that I had used while editing. I am able to view the recovered files with VLC Media Player to figure out which project each came from and to try and sort them back into project specific folders. However, there seems to be duplication of everything in various file formats; mp4, m4v, 3g2 & 3gp. Can anyone tell me if AVID requires this file duplication in order to plaback?
