Hi all,
So I thought I would install 8.03. Of course it didn't work, because Avid has made sure that upgrading Media Composer requires a superhuman effort every time.
This time, the installer says an older version of Avid Editor Transcode must be removed first. So fine, I go to Control Panel, find it and choose uninstall. But, it won't do it because it wants the original installation files to still be in the exact same position on my computer that they were when I installed it.
So I find the archived copy I have of 7.03 installation, copy it back to where it's looking for it, browse for the file, and get an error that the "installed product does not match the installation sources."
So I guess it's looking for an even earlier version, even though the path it suggests to me has version 7.03 in the name.
Any one else get this problem?
Thanks a million,
Vito
