want to copy Avid MediaFiles folder '1' to another drive. Is this the right way?

Hi there,

I need to free up space for a new drive in my 5-bay enclosure.  One drive that's currently taking up one of the slots seems to me to not have much on it, except for an Avid MediaFiles folder that I know I need.  My question is how best to go about moving this folder (or its contents) onto one of the other four drives in the enclosure.  One of these four, that already has an Avid MediaFiles folder, has lots of spare room on it.

So...

can I simply rename the folder in the Avid MediaFiles folder that I want to move—it's now called '1' but I could call it '2'—and then move it into the Avid MediaFiles folder (which already has a folder named '1') on the drive with lots of room?

or should I simply copy all the .mxf files (in this folder named '1' in the Avid MediaFiles folder on the drive that I want to get rid of) into the folder named '1' of the Avid MediaFiles folder that's on the target drive?

thanks for your advice,

Malcolm
