Change the wrappers!

There are alot of times when I work on projects where someone encoded files for offline editing in Avid. Most of the time they code it as a DNxHD, but almost no coding software or camera codes MXF OP Atom files. Why do Avid persist with this wrapper? Why do they not open up the mediafiles to be able to contain QT DNxHD/HR? Right now, Red announced that they'll include DNxHD as separate editorial files when shooting RAW, but it will be in quicktime format, just like ProRes so there isn't any difference between the two.

So, why can't Avid just open up the media folder to include other wrappers? It doesn't affect the codecs.
