Hi,
I'm having a problem with an Avid set-up I'm currently working on. The system consists on a Mac Pro, running Media Composer 8.4.4, as well as latest Premiere CC. Hooked up to the mac, via thunderbolt, is an AJA io4K. Hooked up to that is an Optoma projector, via HDMI. Hooked up to the mac are dual monitors - one is a first generation HP Dreamcolor and the other is a Dell (not sure of model number at the moment).
My problem is that I can not play out to the projector (via AJA) and to the 2nd monitor at the same time. I can do this in Premiere, however, by selecting the 2nd monitor and the AJA box in the playback settings.
In Avid, if I switch off that little gear icon above the timeline (switching it to the crossed out version) I can play fullscreen to the 2nd monitor. If I turn it on, I can play out to the projector. However, I need to be able to have both on at the same time.
I called Avid support and the fellow told me it was impossible for Avid to play out to two separate monitors at the same time (like Premiere) Is this true? Does anyone have any inexpensive hardware suggestions? I can't spend a lot of money fixing this issue? Thanks for reading.
