I've come across the need to unlink media using Avid MC 8.6 and notice the unlink option is a submenu item of modify now. However , using this function on it's own from the menu or trying the option / shift as well it will not unlink the subclip at all which it used to do in previous versions to 8. We have a workflow where our raw picture and sound media is sync'd and then subclipped into it's individual takes and then the autosync feature is used to make them 'master clips' for editing. We used to be able to unlink this and modify the clip if needed but now in v8.6 it seems you have to match back to the original picture or sound file and unlink them each individually , modify, and then relink. Is this a bug or is this a new workflow idea? It's a tad inconvenient for offline editorial. Perhaps I am doing something wrong? Any insight would be appreciated.
Mac OS 10.11.5, Avid MC v8.6, MacPro 12 Core, 64GB ram.
