Tracks locked together in timeline

Recently updated to 8.5.3, this seems like a new feature...In the timeline if I have video & audio tracks from the same clip, If I want to click on the audio tracks to highlight them (in order to deleate them for example), it automatically also highlights the video track as well (and vise-versa). I figured out if you press ALT when you click on the track it doesn't do this, but is there a way to turn it off? I find it pretty annoying that they are locked together.
