I have never been able to work out how to successfully relink transcoded source clips. Say I'm working on a new project that uses material that I've previously worked with but is now offline. That material was AMA linked and then transcoded to DNxHD 145 and then deleted. If I try to relink with media the same media that has subsequently been re-imported, no joy. It gives me a message about mixed resolutions. You can relink to the original source media no problem, but what if you still need that as transcoded media for performance reasons? How do you relink those clips and everything downstream - groups/subclips/sequences etc to mxf media. Retranscoding those files will simply make new mxf files and those are not linkable to anything downstream. BTW I'm not a newbie - I've been using Avid for 20 years almost every day but this one eludes me. Anyone have any wisdom?
