Linking Re-transcoded media to Original transcoded Clips

Hey all,

So I started a 1080p 23.976 project on MC 5.5.3. Original files were shot on Canon 5D. Ingested H264 quicktime material through AMA and transoded it all. I began to sync, sort and scriptsync. I've just now realized as I'm 80% of the way through script syncing that the gamma has shifted on all of the material. Upon further research I found that having perian installed causes this problem. I have uninstalled Perian and retranscoded all of the material however I don't know how to relink these new media files to the original clips that I first transcoded and have put in sync and sorted in the project. There is no tape name on linked AMA files and although the source file is identical I don't believe that Avid is capable of relinking this way. Many others have mentioned that it is possible to offline edit to transocded material and then relink the final sequence to the original AMA files. Is there a way to do this with master clips? Any help would be appreciated.
