Hello,
Currently I'm working on a film in which some proxie-media need other burn-in's than others. Some shots are FX-shots and they need an additional tag (VFX-ID).
I'm making MXF-proxies with Resolve 12. They all already got Source TC and Clipnames. Now I disconnected the main hard drive with the online media and made a new Resolve project in which the Media Pool is the same as the Avid Media files. What I want to do is to make a loop. I'd like to import EDL's or AAF's made in Avid with only the shots that need a different burn-in (tag, VFX-ID) and then render them out with this burn in.
Here's what I tried: I tried to add comments in Avid and export them within an EDL. After that in Resolve I opened Project-settings and under 'Master Project Setting' --> 'Conform Options' I checked "Extract reel names from EDL comments". Then I went to the 'color'-tab and under burn-in I choose "reel name". But the box remains emty. I think the problem is that Resolve always linkes to the files in the media pool, and the comments are only added in the sequence.
Question: Is there a better way to pass some form of metadata from Avid to Resolve in such a matter that I can automaticly burn-in tags?
Question: Am I overlooking a option in Avid to do this more efficient?
Can somebody help me?
Kind regards,
