Hi,
So I'm in a suffocating Nairobi hotel room pondering the following:
Just been handed 280GB of rushes by a camera crew. It's from P2 cards (Panasonic HPX255) and appears to be good old .MXF
I've downloaded and installed the Panasonic P2 AMA plugin from the Panasonic website.
The footage is on an external drive.
Within Avid I created a project at the correct resolution ((1080i/50) and tried to Link to the footage.
Found a nested series of files, including 'Video' and 'Audio'.
found the .MXF files in 'Video' selected all and tried to link.
Only about half showed up in the bin, and without audio.
According to the Console 'the AAF Processor Failed' on all the others.
I've scoured the net for answers and it seems P2 has a whole workflow that supposedly links audio and video upon import.
The cameraman showed me all the clips working fine on his FCPX (boo).
Will have to call the client shortly to announce I can't finish the job, which isn't good.
Any final reprieve, anyone??
Thanks,
Jon
(PS Thanks Carl!)
