trashcan mac pro + MC 8.5.2 = long save times

So I'm curious if anyone else with the same hardware is seeing what I'm experiencing.

I have two trash can mac pros

The specs for both of them are: 10.10.5, 8 core, D500 graphcis, 32GB RAM. One displayport 24" display. No video/audio hardware. Using USB 3.0 drive (also tried our shared storage but disconnected this to remove it from the equation).

Using Media Composer 8.5.2 a sequence takes a long long time to save.  A really large sequence never saves and has to be forced quit. I created a new 1080/24p project and sequence and imported the Media Composer 1080 test patterns from MC application folder. I cut these all into the new sequence. It took 15 seconds to save. This normally should take 1 second to save. This happens on both mac pros. We are using DNxHD115 for this test.

Now we move the drive over to another trash can mac pro that has a 6 core processor and it saves just fine. Also, the iMac at my desk saves just fine. These are both running 10.10.5 with MC 8.5.2.

Can anyone else out there running 10.10.5 on an 8-core mac pro using MC 8.5.2 tell me if you can save bins quickly?

I've only tried this on a 1080/24p projects as this is how we work.

Thanks.
