Avid is pleased to announce the release of Media Composer v8.5.2.
This update can be found in Application Manager, your My Avid master account, and the Avid Download Center.
Good news -- I've been testing it for a few hours now and it appears to have fixed the huge Apple spinning beachball issue.
Change in this Release: AudioSuite Change - The menu options “Mono mode” and “Multi Input mode” have been added to the AudioSuite Effect dialog.
Fixes: Included in this update are a number of fixes including:
• (Mac OS10.11.3) Exporting a greater than 20 minute sequence as a QuickTime movie caused the system to crash. This is now fixed.
• (Mac) In some instances, after about 15 or 20 minutes of editing and playing back, the spinning beachball would appear and you would have to force quit. This has been resolved.
• “StreamingPlayConsumer Timeout” error messages occurred when playing back in 12-bit quality mode in full stereoscopic projects when I/O hardware was ON. This has been fixed. NOTE: RGB 12- bit mode is not supported with Nitris DX, Mojo DX or software only systems.
• In previous releases, the editing application did not support EDL import of 64 audio tracks. This has been fixed.
• In some instances, you could not select master clips and export them to an XDCAM device. This has been fixed.
• When you performed an AMA File export, the file might not have been placed in the path location that was selected. This has been resolved.
• Some keyboard shortcuts were not working in the Paint Tool. This is now fixed.
• (Trim mode) In some instances on Mac, when you slowly dragged out a clip, the clip was incorrectly trimmed in the other direction. This is fixed.
• In some instances, changing the Capture tool audio channel from Stereo to Mono caused the editing application to crash. This is resolved.
• If the Font size was set to 16 or higher, the last clip at the bottom of the bin could not be renamed. This is fixed.
• In some instances, a title would be cropped after you saved it in the Title tool. This is now fixed.
