Hi all, first time actually posting here so I'll try to be as thorough as I can while trying to keep it brief.
Currently editing an independent feature and have run into an interesting issue with the audio.
The main sound mixer recorded all the audio inputs together into a single .wav file per take, each audio source with it's own channel, and then labeled the .wav files by scene and take numbers. So every take has a single corresponding multichannel .wav file, pretty standard.
However, production had a fill in sound mixer for roughly a third of the shoot who didn't label the .wav's or deliver them as multichannel files. Each audio source got it's own single channel .wav file. So for those days instead of one .wav per take, I've got six.
I used pluraleyes to sync up the good days audio, but since pluraleyes doesnt recognize which .wavs from the other days belong to the same takes (and the waveforms don't always match due to different mic placement), syncing those is problematic.
So the best solution I can think of is making group clips of each take's .wav's, then attempting to sync the group clips.
But I wanted to see if anyone knew of a better or more efficient process before I get started on doing this to all 1,944 files from 324 takes?
